Glasgow Love Story marks the bandâs fourth studio album and follows the success of An Ocean Full of Islands, which reached #13 on the UK Official Chart, #1 in Scotland, and #2 on the Independent Albums Chart. The record is a deeply personal tribute to the city that has shaped their journey, capturing its people, places, and spirit through evocative storytelling and anthemic indie-folk melodies.
The album features Tide Linesâ two recent singles: the joyous indie-folk escapism and vivid depiction of the cityâs late summer haze on âCherry Blossom Sunsetâ; and the serene beauty of âHomeward Boundâ, which reflects on the pure innocence of childhood.
Tide Lines â completed by Ross Wilson (keyboards), Fergus Munro (drums) and Alasdair Turner (guitar / bagpipes) â recorded the album in their studio on the Isle of Mull, a converted church where Ross used to attend Sunday school. Its songs were written by Robert, and produced by Ross with the band.
Expansive singalong moments and classic songwriting that takes in the bandâs formative inspirations with hints of The Waterboys, Frightened Rabbit, and Snow Patrol. Itâs warm, tender and utterly charming.â â The Line of Best Fit
âAlt-pop that looks to American heartland rock, whilst retaining the tartan patterns of home.â â Wonderland
âFolk melodies with big-chorused contemporary indie-rock, led by Robert Robertsonâs powerful voice and charismatic presence.â â The Scotsman
