Following the breakup of the Police, their drummer Stewart Copeland undertook a musical Odessey through the heart of Africa in search of the roots of Rock & Roll.
Originally released as both a film, (directed and produced by Jean-Pierre Dutilleux) and album in 1985, âThe Rhythmatistâ preceded the release of âGracelandâ by Paul Simon which was to follow in 1986.
The album produced by Stewart along with Jeff Seitz, featured the singles âKoteja (Oh Bolilla)â featuring Ray Lema a major figure in world music himself as well as âGong Rockâ.
Never repressed since itâs original release the brand new edition comes with exclusive refreshed artwork and is Newly mastered from the original master tapes by Phil Kinrade at Air Studios.
