Sekunderna Hits Vinyl LP 2025
Tbc
Sekunderna return with their second album Hits, a fizzing set of power pop anthems shot through with punk urgency, all sung in Swedish. Recorded in summer 2024 at Stallet in UmeÄ with Henrik Wiklund and mixed/mastered by Jeff Burke, it finds the UmeÄ four-piece refining the raw energy of their debut while expanding their sound with acoustic textures, bigger choruses, and a sharper melodic focus.
Influenced by the punch of The Marked Men, the grit of Ebba Grön, and the hookcraft of Guided by Voices, Hits captures moments of sadness, joy, absurdity, and release. âSe dig inte omâ is a compact anthem of betrayal laced with Eyvind Johnson references, while âKedjorna fallerâ plays like a scene from an Aki KaurismĂ€ki film. Lyrically, the band draw from classic Scandinavian literature and cinema, channelling themes of work, longing, and everyday struggles in late-stage capitalism.
Artwork by Luc Simone nods to vintage Swedish cinema and Guided by Voices, built from 1960s rural Swedish magazine clippings that reflect the bandâs attachment to nostalgia, grit, and working-class storytelling. Glittering riffs, restless hearts, and no wasted seconds â Hits is Sekunderna pushing forward without looking back.
