PRAED Al Wahem Vinyl LP Indies 2026
Indie Store Exclusive
Tracklist:
Tbc
PRAED â Al Wahem (The Illusion) arrives as a focused, four-part statement from the SwissâLebanese duo of Raed Yassin and Paed Conca. Recorded between Beirut and Berlin, it returns to their core language: Egyptian shaabi reframed through electronics, improvisation and the grit of street-level sound.
The twenty-minute title track unfolds from a tightly locked dual-drum foundation courtesy of Pascal Semerdjian and Ayman Zebdawi. Synth motifs widen the frame while clarinet, bass and brief vocal calls from Yassin and guest Mayssa Jallad sit embedded within the groove. Rather than spotlighting melody, the piece builds through steady, patient accumulation.
âAl Hathayanâ sharpens the focus, with Concaâs clarinet shifting between flowing lines and clipped rhythmic figures against restless loops and raw percussion. On âAl Marayaâ, electronics, bass and clarinet create depth without excess, opening space within the rhythm. Closer âAssarabâ, featuring Amr Said, circles its themes in widening patterns, blurring the line between processed and acoustic sound.
A co-release from Ruptured and Annihaya, Al Wahem draws PRAED back to a concentrated format, reshaping familiar materials with purpose and control.
