Written and recorded during a period of profoundupheaval and transition, it marks a return to the core ofAckroydâs practice, bringing piano and violin backtogether. Liminal will be released on black vinyl and CD.For the first time since 2019âs âFeathersâ, Ackroyd reunitesthese two instruments exclusively, with every sound on thealbum drawn from piano and violin alone. Melody, harmony,rhythm and texture are all extracted from the physical bodiesof the instruments themselves, from bowed and pluckedstrings to percussive elements.
