American standard-bearers for glam rock and important precursors to punk rock, New York Dolls reunited nearly three decades after their 1970s heyday, at the personal request of longtime fan Morrissey. This 2009 Atco album, helmed by original band members and producer Todd Rundgren, pushes their sonic envelope with a reggae-tinged reworking of their classic “Trash” and the beautiful pop melody of “Lonely So Long.”
