Part of the legendary Staple Singers, along with her father Roebuck âPopsâ Staples and her siblings Cleotha, Pervis and Yvonne, this first solo outing was released on Stax Records subsidiary Volt and produced by Staxâs Al Bell and Steve Cropper. Included are the single âYouâre Driving Me (To the Arms of a Stranger)â along with powerful versions of âSon of A Preacher Manâ and âA House Is Not A Homeâ. The musicians who play on the album is a whoâs who of soul including, Isaac Hayes (organ), Steve Cropper (guitar), Donald âDuckâ Dunn (bass), and Al Jackson Jr. (drums).
