First time vinyl release captures legendary singer-songwriter Blaze Foleyās earliest recordings. Simple, straightforward and strong, Sittinā By The Road contains 12 tracks recorded during Blazeās ātree houseā days in Georgia. The tracks featured here were recorded in the mid-1970s on Blazeās home reel-to-reel machine he carried with him on his travels between Texas and rural Georgia. These songs showcase Blazeās talent in early form. The album includes several of Blazeās songs now considered classics such as Cold, Cold World; Election Day; Clay Pigeons & If I Could Only Fly. The album also boasts three Foley songs that do not appear on any other recordings; The Way You Smile, Fat Boy, and the title track. At the time of Blazeās tragic murder in 1989 he was little known outside of Austinās renegade songwriter circles. He is now revered among the pantheon of Texasā great songwriters. Townes Van Zant and Lucinda Willliams both penned moving tributes to Blaze. His songs have been covered by John Prine, Merle Haggard, Lyle Lovett, Billy Strings, and Willie Nelson.
